Republican Paul Nehlen Says Salem Radio Host Lied About His Muslim Refugee Stance

GOP candidate Paul Nehlen tells “The Citizen Kelly Show” on AM 1590 WCGO that he is angry about a false report that he wants to deport “all Muslims.” The report was part of a false press release sent out by the “Morning Answer” on Salem Radio’s AM 560 WIND, a radio program with deep financial ties to Gov. Bruce Rauner of Illinois, who is openly opposing Donald Trump for President which deliberately twisted Nehlen’s words. Nehlen says he does support reinstating the loyalty oath to the United States and the Constitution for new citizens.
TRANSCRIPT:
KELLY: I see a lot of people are actually twisting your words. They are making it out as if you are saying is that you want all Muslims deported. I believe what you really meant that all Muslims who believe in Sharia law, who do not want to assimilate, who want to do harm to Americans….
NEHLEN: That’s exactly correct. I never suggested in that interview that all Muslims should be deported but it has been twisted in the media. I am for a strong, secure America. I’m not for getting involved in every Islamic civil war that’s going on…Let’s put this in perspective. There are more Muslims killing more Muslims than they are killing other people. Let’s be clear. Those who believe strongly in Sharia are killing those who do not believe strongly enough in Sharia or who don’t follow the tenets of Sharia and we have now gotten involved in every Islamic civil war around the globe and let me say one thing to your listeners. Paul Ryan is the one human on this planet who has responsibility to the Constitution. He’s got some nerve waving that Constitution around. He’s responsible for Article 1, section 8 and the framers of the Constitution never intended for the President to wage war on his own. They said that responsibility lies with Congress and Paul Ryan has been asked four times now to bring debate to the floor of the House and he has refused to do that.
KELLY: Under Obama, new citizens can skip the loyalty oath to uphold the Constitution. They just skip it. Do you think we need the loyalty oath? Should we reinstate the loyalty oath in order to become a U.S. citizen?
NEHLEN: Absolutely. I don’t know of a country in the world that would do something like that. It is absolutely ridiculous. We bend over backwards in the last seven and a half years and it’s to the detriment of the globe and by no stretch of the imagination think we should be out fighting wars everywhere. We need to build our military up and have the strongest, most well-equipped fighting force on the planet and the first group that screws with us – we annihilate them – and that will put the fear of God in every other group that if they mess with us they will be annihilated
